Tenerife Holidays Guide

Tenerife is located in the Canary Islands some 650 miles south of Europe but in close proximity to Africa. Its geographical location makes Tenerife an ideal holiday destination especially during the winter when the weather remains good and significantly warmer than in Europe.

Mount Teide the highest mountain in Spain rises up to 3,718m and is located near the centre of the volcanic island. You will find both desert and forest and a wide mix of flora and fauna at the different altitudes. In winter you can bask on the beach and stand on the snowy Teide all in the same day.

Other day trips you can take in Tenerife are a visit to Las Aguilas Del Teide also known as the the Eagle Park, or the Jungle Park. An excursion to the Pirámides de Güímar (pyramids of Guimar) a group of six ancient step pyramids is recommended. They are similar to those found in central and south America and perfectly aligned to sunset on the summer solstice.
